Before Hevesh knocks over her mind-blowing domino creations, she uses a version of the engineering design process to plan out each piece. This allows her to make precise adjustments so that all the sections work together. Once the prototype is perfect, she starts assembling the pieces. She builds the biggest 3-D sections first, then adds flat arrangements and finally lines of dominoes that connect all the different sections together.
Hevesh’s domino art can take days, weeks, or even months to complete. But she says that it’s well worth the effort. “There is nothing more satisfying than watching something that you’ve worked so hard on come to life,” she says.
